swimming + cross-fit = bad ass work out

i tried out a swimming WOD the other day that Gabe recommended and it was tough. before the workout i thought that i was in pretty good shape ,but it kicked my ass, and i didn't even do the swimming prescribed! if u get a chance try it out i'll post the origonal and another one i did today that swapped out a few movements.

8 rounds
100m ( i did 50m )
10 push-ups
15 v-up
parallel squat hold for 30 sec.

16 push-ups to side plank
30 sit-ups
15 air squats

  1. Ohio, we will begin to regularly implement swimming into wods. maybe even twice a week. This will ensure an increased work capacity in the water as well as transitioning from dryland to aquatic environments while under workload. I also have plans of constructing a weighted sled that we can both push and pull on the dirt or possible event the blacktop. I'm very excited about my new toys and they should prove to be excellent additions to our constantly varied wods.

  2. sounds awesome. i'm trying to swim at least four times a week to try to improve my endurance. the sleds sound like a great idea, reminds me of football practice back in the day. lol
